We're still proud of you, Ms Philippines!

This morning I got up early than the usual to be able to witness our very own Miss Philippines in the Miss Universe beaty pageant.But things didn't go as we've expected, our bet can't bring home the bacon. She was not able to make on top 15! Miss Philippines exudes a real and stunning beauty. So it's a bit of puzzle for me, and I guess to all the Filipinos out there why she didn't even qualifies to the top 15. If we are going to based our assessment to the pre-pageant interview in the official website of Miss Univere 2007, Miss Japan's answers were not really fascinating, it's not remarkable as we are expecting good answers from a Miss Universe. But, frankly speaking in the coronation night, she radiates confidence and elegance.

Well, whatever the reasons are, we just have to trust the judges. Perhaps there are scenes we've yet to unleash, occurences that only their eyes catch a glimpse with.

Nevertheless, Miss Philippines bagged the title as Miss Photogenic. We knew that the competition is quite tight.It's enough that Philippine beauty was recognized by the whole world beyond all other pretty lasses vying for the title. After all, an Asian victoriously bring home the crown, so it's not a fiasco, what do you think?

Summer Fun

Just after the Holy Week, our family headed to our summer destination in Rose Gold, Calatagan, Batangas last April 7. The place is so nice. The cottages in Rose Gold are overwater aircon cottages connected by a walkway. So you can go down the water and start swimming right away. The water is crystal clear but it's not conducive to swimming I guess coz sea urchins are scattered around the water. It's a bit dangerous so you need to wear slippers if you feel like swimming. And the sea bed is a bit mossy, that's why we spent a lot of time in the pool.

World Mayor: The 2006 Most Outstanding Mayor of the World

It's not too late to congratulate Mayor Binay about the result of 2006 Most outstanding mayor in the world. Mayor Binay ranked fourth in the said competition. Over 103,000 people from accross the world voted and commented on their favourite mayors in the internet-based World Mayor contest. Actually, Mommy Armi (one of my colleagues who has been dubbeb as "Mommy" because of her motherly disposition) shared this story. We confirmed this fascinating news through the site www.worldmayor.com. You can check it by yourself. Isn't it amazing that one of the mayors in the Philippines made Filipinos proud? That implies that we're not underdogs!

The annual World Mayor project aims to raise the profile of mayors worldwide as well as to honour those who have served their communities well and who have made contributions to the well-being of cities nationally and internationally.

John So, Lord Mayor of Melbourne, has been elected World Mayor 2006. Runner up in the 2006 World Mayor contest is Job Cohen, Mayor of Amsterdam. In third place is Harrisburg’s long-serving mayor Stephen Reed, while Jejomar Binay, Mayor of Makati City, ranks fourth. Michel Thiollière, Mayor of St Etienne, completes the top five. John So will be presented with the World Mayor Award early in 2007. Previous winners are, in 2004, Edi Rama, Mayor of Tirana and now also leader of Albania's socialist party, and in 2005, Dora Bakoyannis, Mayor of Athens and now Greek foreign minister.

Lately I get to watch late night shows because I can't sleep early since I landed a new career. I go to sleep usually at 3:00 AM. Fortunately, ABS-CBN has these late night shows like PBB and Games uplate, so I don't have a boring night. Grrrrr...I hate Wendy so much. She has no finesse and to think that she's a "beauty queen" daw. She's a weak type of person. She emits that kind of personality by frequently crying over trivial matters. It is so annoying (excuse me lng po sa lahat ng fans nya). And I actually read PBB Forum and I found out na there's a lot of people who dislike her a lot as well. And I can't find the reason why big brother brought her back inside the PBB house. Ok, granted that Big Brother has reason for it why only the four HS were given a chance to go back, why not all di ba? It's so unfair for the other evicted housemates like Dionne and Maricris, although Cris was force evicted. Honestly I was so happy when I first learned that Wendy was evicted and eto na nman pinabalik cya. I tried sending messages in PBB interactive and unfortunately my messages were not read....Oh well papel, I've made up my mind I do wanna spend a single peso anymore. It's enough that I watch the show.
